Communication

According to dictionary definition, communication is the activity or process of expressing ideas and feelings or of giving people information. There are various forms of communication. The most direct form is a face-to-face contact. People talk to each other, see other’s gesture and immediate response. A less direct form is non-face-to-face yet simultaneous communication, such as video-chat, telephone chat, online text message, etc. The most indirect form is to communicate through a media. For example written text (letter, email, literature), visual form (painting), multimedia (youtube, film).

  1. What a thorough list of modes of communication! Do you personally have a favorite? I also like how your definition relates communication to information. I haven't used the word "information" to mean something out of the realm of physics in a long time. Have you heard of this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole_information_paradox

Black holes are lousy at communication and it could mean some of the central tenets of science are spurious!

  2. Have you ever considered communication that can occur without an existence of an oral or verbal conversation?
